In the lingerie world there are many terms used for different bra styles. Some lingerie companies use these terms loosely, as well as make up their own , creating a bit of confusion for customers.
So here is my explanation to the Unlined verses Molded cup bras.
The Unlined, wire, cut and sew, or seamed bra, can all describe a bra that is free of any foam lining. These are made of a thin material that may have beautiful lace or embroidery details. The Unlined Bra is not made to conceal the nipples, nor add cup sizes. It is a beautiful style that shows off the natural curves of your bust. This style is also lightweight and can feel cooler in warm temperatures. Most Unlined Bras are seamed. A two part cup has one seam, a three part cup has two, and a four part cup has three, more the seams more the lift. These can run horizontal or vertical, and each will result in a different breast position. I have found that some women are afraid of wearing seams, thinking that they will be uncomfortable, or create weird shaped breasts. Though you should always try on and examine your profile under a blouse before passing up a wonderful seamed bra. If the cups are the right shape for your breasts and in your correct size, the Unlined Bra will probably be one of your most beautiful and supportive pieces.
Next is the popular Molded Bra ,sometimes seen as a 'Moulded' cup bra. The Molded Cup Bra is made from one piece of foam that has been heated to a body form to make a desired breast shape. The Molded Bra can be t-shirt, push-up, plunge, and or padded.
The contour version, a very popular style, holds its shape when not worn. This bra conceals the nipples, and can make uneven breasts appear symmetrical. Though unlike the Unlined Bra, your breast must mold to the shape of the contoured cup, sometimes making for a not so good match. Trying different shaped contoured bras, and even a less rigid cup style will help this problem. This style may also have seams for added support. The T-Shirt bra however, is always seam free, creating a smooth profile for any outfit. The Padded is just a bra with more of the foam lining, depending on how much curve you'd like. The Push-Up involves either graduated padding or bra cookies that push the breast tissue upwards. Fighting gravity is not an easy task ladies. The Plunge mostly creates cleavage, and allows you to wear a low cut shirt without revealing your bra. Different tops usually call for different styles, so whatever type bra you're wearing, wear it with confidence!!! And never be afraid to try new styles.

I love getting to know as much as I can about the support, fit, and comfort of my product. My first purchase from Parfait by Affinitas, was the Casey Plunge. I needed an everyday beige colored bra, and that's what the Casey has been perfect for. Quick Update: New "Nude" shade and strap material for CASEY PLUNGE! I broke down and ordered the New Casey in my new size. (remember this style requires sizing down in the cups.) I've been wearing it for a couple of days now, and the cleavage effect everyone raves about is much more obvious now that I'm in the correct cup size. Yeah for great t-shirt bras!
